Introduction
EQI-Flo Defined
EQI-Flo is modern isometrics for strength, balance, and mobility.
Isometrics Defined
Standard static holds require maintaining a fixed position without any change in muscle length.
Isometrics has long been part of yoga practice, ancient warrior training, and Eastern martial arts.
Eccentric Quasi Isometrics (EQI) Defined
EQI is a training modality defined as holding a submaximal load, followed by maintaining resistance during the subsequent eccentric or lowering phase.
Mechanically, this format is distinct from traditional isometrics in that it allows for slow joint movement under load.
The movement begins with a static hold but inherently transitions into a controlled, high-tension elongation phase.
What EQI-Flo Is
Time Under Tension
Rather than focusing on reps and sets, EQI-Flo optimizes cumulative muscle Time Under Tension (TUT), with most movements having a TUT of one minute or more.
Mind-Muscle Connection
Programming promotes precise postures to encourage intentional movement and improve body proprioception (understanding where your limbs are in space).
Balance Benefits
Every workout includes multiple segments specifically designed to help improve balance and mobility.

EQI-Flo Programming Philosophy
All sessions begin with a 10-minute mobility-focused warm-up and muscle activation routine.
Breath control (mindful inhalation and exhalation) is used to pace each movement.
All sessions conclude with a 3-minute cooldown including a savasana-like DeNaLiS breath flow.
